Experienced crane operators across the country are failing NCCCO certification exams despite decades of hands-on skills.
Without certification:
operators miss out on higher-paying positions
face job security issues
and lose money on repeated testing fees.
The biggest trap operators fall into is relying on free YouTube videos or outdated materials from operators who passed years ago when the tests were different. Many waste weeks trying to decode ASME standards that were never meant to be study guides.
The worst mistake they make is thinking they can wing it because they've been operating for decades - not realizing the exam tests entirely different knowledge than daily job tasks.
When you can focus your study time effectively instead of cramming everything, you will be confident on exam day. Once you've practiced with our curriculum, you'll recognize scenarios immediately on exam day and answer with confidence.
When the load chart calculations are finally complete, you’ll finish that section with time to spare and can review the other answers. As a certified operator, you can join companies that only hire credentialed professionals and command top-dollar rates for your specialized services. You simply need the right preparation strategy.

Welcome! My name is Eric, I have worked with cranes for more than 30 years in positions ranging from oiler to operator, to branch manager. I started my career in 1996 as a rigger with Reliable Rentals and most recently have served as a Project Manager for a Crane Rental Company in Birmingham, Al.
During my time in the crane industry, I planned critical lifts for Southern Company, Duke Energy, Brasfield and Gorrie, Gray Construction, the Army Corp of Engineers, and NASA. I was also the first runner-up in the 2015 Crane Operator and Rigger National Championship.
